AI visibility: what shipped when
We tracked every company we could find selling AI search visibility software and dated every feature launch from their own changelogs, launch posts and press releases. Here is when each kind of feature arrived, and what it means for the tools your team is being pitched.

Who ships what, company by company
56 companies with at least one dated first launch, across eight kinds of AI visibility feature. Each cell shows the month a company first shipped that kind of feature. Empty means we found no dated launch, not that the feature is missing.
Eight waves, in order
Each wave shows when companies shipped their first feature of that kind. The red marker is the date by which half of them had shipped it.
194 first launches, one dot each
Each dot is the first time a company shipped that kind of feature, colored by the kind of company. Hover or tap a dot for the launch, click to open the company’s own announcement.
Every first launch, with its source
The first time each company shipped each kind of feature, with a link to the company’s own announcement. Filter by kind of feature or segment, or search for a company.
What shipped, in order
Five things the dates show about the market your team is buying from.
Answer tracking came first
15 of the 47 companies tracking brands in AI answers were live before 2025. SEO suites moved early: Semrush, seoClarity and Moz started tracking Google's AI answers in mid-2024.
Then: can AI even read your site?
Crawler analytics and llms.txt and schema tools came next. 37 of their 40 first launches happened in 2025 or later.
Citation analysis became standard
34 of the 37 companies that show which pages AI cites shipped that feature in 2025 or later. Knowing the sources is now table stakes.
MCPs arrived fast
22 companies now let Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot use their tool directly. None did before 2025, and 12 shipped it this year.
2026 is agents and AI ads
10 of 12 AEO agents and 15 of 18 shopping and ads trackers launched this year. Expect the “AEO on autopilot” pitch next.
Most of these tools ship the same feature within weeks of each other. The tool won’t be your edge. What your team does with the data will.
Get a free AI visibility reportHow we built this, and where it can be wrong
We listed 72 companies selling AI visibility software: AI-native trackers, SEO suites, web platforms, crawler tools and PR suites. For each one, we logged every AI visibility feature launch we could date from the company’s own changelog, blog, press releases, docs or launch posts. We used third-party coverage only to confirm a date the company announced.
Each launch is tagged with one of eight kinds of feature. A company counts in a wave on the date it first shipped that kind. 63 companies had at least one dated launch; products with no dated source are left out.
Limits: launch counts reflect how much a company publishes, not how fast it ships. Some first dates are later than the real launch because a changelog starts later. An independent spot-check of 23 first dates confirmed 17, and the earlier launches it found were corrected, so the real waves likely start a little earlier than shown. Research was done on October 28 and 29, 2026, and we will update it every week.
Every launch in sections 01, 03 and 04 links to the company’s own announcement. This is not a ranking: a company with more dots publishes more, it does not necessarily ship more. Corrections are welcome. If a date is wrong or a company is missing, reply to any update email and we will fix it in the next weekly update.
